Laughter Ambassador DAVE BERMAN Brings Help The World Laugh Tour to Third Thursdays Free Laughter Yoga Circle
Laughter Ambassador Dave Berman is the guest class leader for the Third Thursdays Free Laughter Yoga Circle’s next meeting on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 7:00-7:30pm at Atlanta Kick, 764 Miami Circle, Atlanta, GA 30307
Berman, co-author of Laughter For the Health of It, is known around the world for producing a laughter yoga demonstration video every day of the year on the Daily Laughers YouTube channel. “The mission of Daily Laughers is to inspire a million or more people to adopt a daily laughter practice,” said Berman. “People who laugh intentionally as an exercise every day have less stress, more joy, and better overall health, which definitely has positive ripple effects on people around them.”
Laughter yoga started in 1995 when a cardiologist in India, Dr. Madan Kataria, created the first laughter club. He built on existing research about the health benefits of laughter by showing laughing unconditionally, without jokes and humor, also feels good and creates positive changes in the mind and body. There are now more than 10,000 free laughter clubs in over 100 countries, plus multiple phone and Skype groups laughing together remotely every day.
Dr. Kataria honored Berman with the title Laughter Ambassador for his ongoing commitment and to celebrate the diversity of guests featured in his Laugh of the Day videos, so far this year representing 40 states and 54 foreign countries.
The Third Thursdays Free Laughter Yoga Circle is run by Celeste Greene, who leads free laugher yoga sessions for all ages and fitness levels every third Thursday at Atlanta Kick. Celeste invited Berman as guest leader as part of his “Help The World Laugh” tour that is taking him through at least 10 states by the end of the year before he continues internationally in January.
Following the laughter session, Berman will lead an interactive discussion about the health, social, spiritual, and professional benefits of laughing on purpose, sharing impactful stories told by his video guests and offering inspiration connecting each individual’s daily laughter to a broader global vision.
“If you knew you can be healthier, happier and less stressed, plus be a good influence, would you do the one simple and natural thing necessary?” asked Berman. “Laughter is the sound of joyful breathing. It is literally the least we can do for a healthier, happier, more peaceful world.”
The event is free, though Laughter For the Health of It will be for sale and donations for Berman’s travel fund will be gratefully accepted.
